FAQS

  • Yes, the water is treated bore water.

  • Our laundry is at the front of the park between the male and female bathrooms. Washing machines take $1 or $2 coins (please ensure you place the coins in the correct slot). Clotheslines are behind the laundry. We do not have dryers.

  • No, we do not have a dump point due to the proximity of the Burke River. The closest dump point is out of town heading towards Mt Isa, to the left of the cemetery.

  • No, generators are not allowed to run in the park as it is a noise disturbance.

  • Contact Maryellen on 0427 021 002. This is not uncommon during our busiest periods usually the coldest part of the year and we want to stay warm by running multiple heating appliances on the same grid. We ask you to reduce how many heat items you are using at the same time, and be patient as we try to remedy the issue. We are a small park and town and enjoy the company of hundreds of campers only a few days a year.

  • Fires are allowed in a free standing firepit as long as it does not disturb the grass or other campers. We take much pride in our grass and spend all summer watering and mowing ready for our lovely guests to enjoy. There is also a communal firepit in the centre of the park. We do not sell or loan firepits.

  • No, this park is a small family-run business.

  • We have a few tourist attractions in town, such as the Min Min Encounter and museum. We also have a library, a local pool, and hiking paths. Ask our friendly staff or check out our noticeboard.

  • Occasionally when time allows we will have firewood available for sale. Otherwise, you are welcome to cross the road to the "commons" (unfenced land) to find your firewood.

  • Yes, it is accessible near the office and details can be found within the office and on the noticeboard.

  • We ask that you keep all noise to a minimum. Please use your common sense about being courteous to other campers in the park. At the end of the day, everyone is here on holiday to relax from a long day of travelling.

  • Our little orphan camel, Abby, is often in the laneway near the river. However, at times we move her to a larger area so she can access more pasture and have some more space to stretch her legs.

  • We ask that you avoid going into the laneway especially if Abby is present. The river is accessible from outside the park, across the road to the left of the bridge.

  • You might be looking at our guinea fowl. Yes, they are noisy, but they also chase away snakes and goannas.

  • We recommend either going to the local council office, the information centre (Min Min Encounter) or downloading "QLDTraffic" on your phone (this is a Department of Transport and Main Roads app)
